There is a car park in front of the entrance to our Farnborough salsa venue and also you can park in the area to the right of the building. The road the hall is on is residential and there is ample free parking.
Drinks
Farnborough salsa venue has no bar, but we sell bottled soft drinks and provide water free. You are welcome to bring your own drinks along with you too.
The venue
Our Farnborough venue is a lovely large hall with a big curtained stage, huge double glazed windows, nicely decorated and maintained throughout.
Dancefloor
Our Farnborough salsa dancefloor has plenty of space and a beautiful large wooden floor which is very smooth and fast - but be careful not to slip! Stilettos are not permitted in the hall.
Standard of dancers
The dancers at our Farnborough venue range from complete beginners to experienced dancers, with more advanced dancers attending our parties and special events.
Our crew vary in their dance experience, Jules has been dancing many, many years whereas Bazz and Emz (our door staff) are both fairly new to salsa. Toni, who often helps our beginners, has been dancing for years and although only started salsa last year is a natural. We love to dance and also to encourage our newcomers, so please come and ask us, if we haven't asked you first!
The lessons
We begin with basic salsa steps for our complete beginners, but if there are no new dancers, we will start with some improvers moves instead. There are four complete beginners moves which are the same each week, but we sometimes give different variations for holds or additional techniques, for instance tips in how to lead and follow.
Following the beginners class, we take a short break then continue on to improvers moves. Our beginners also take part in this class as it is designed to gradually progress them onto some more challenging salsa moves.
We then take another short break before our intermediate class. Confident beginners - often those who have done other dance styles before - can join in this class, although complete beginners might find this too challenging and may prefer to practise the beginners and improvers moves instead during the intermediate salsa class - we usually have a crew member on hand to help you practise and remind you of the moves.
The crew
Your teacher is Jules. She is a UKA qualified salsa teacher and has been teaching everything form modern jive to salsafit to pilates for many years.
Your door staff are usually Barry or Emz who are both fairly new to salsa. Emz will often join in the dancing having found a new passion for salsa and sometimes helps out the complete beginners with the basic steps.
Toni is an experienced dancer who, although she is fairly new to salsa is a natural and is learning how to lead as well as follow. She usually practises with any newcomers who are not confident about joining in the intermediate class.
The music
We play everything from traditional salsa to Latin pop, salsa remixes to R&B, and anything else you fancy dancing to. Let us know what you like and if we don't already have it, we will try to get it.
